We are looking for students to work as Mock Patients!
Date: Wednesday 5th August
Time: 08:30 - 17:00 (with 30 minute lunch break)
Location: Cambridge Campus
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Role Overview
As a Mock Patient, you will support the assessment of our medical students by taking part in Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs). During these assessments, students will perform routine, non-invasive clinical examinations to demonstrate their examination skills in a safe and controlled environment.
Examinations may include:
- Listening to your heart and lungs using a stethoscope.
- Examining and gently palpating your abdomen.
There are no intimate examinations involved in this role. All examinations will be fully chaperoned, and members of the teaching team will be present throughout the day to provide guidance and support. You will also be provided with a detailed scenario ("script") to help you prepare for the role.
As medical students of all genders may examine you as part of their assessment, applicants must be comfortable being examined by participants of any sex.
Clothing Requirements
Participants should wear loose-fitting clothing to facilitate the examinations. Female participants should wear a sports bra or similar supportive garment. Please note that this role requires the partial removal or adjustment of clothing to allow appropriate access for clinical assessment of the chest and abdomen. Your dignity and privacy will be respected at all times, with only the areas necessary for examination being exposed.
By applying for this role, applicants confirm that they understand and are comfortable with the nature of the examinations and the clothing requirements described above.
