Operations Officer – NHS site

Salary: £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: onsite at Chelmsford based office plus some travel required
Hours: Full time (37.5hrs per week)
Term: Permanent
Start date: ASAP

Their focus is on ensuring contract compliance, minimising disruption during lifecycle works, and delivering long-term value through strategic planning, cost control, and collaborative working.

Are you a recent graduate with strong communication skills, a head for problem-solving, and a passion for working in dynamic environments? Our client is looking for an organised and motivated Operations Officer to join their team and support the smooth running of critical infrastructure projects at an Essex based hospital.

The role
The successful candidate will be joining a collaborative team working on real-world projects that make a difference to public services. It’s a great opportunity to build project and stakeholder management skills and kickstart your career in operations within a supportive and innovative environment. Duties include:
  • Assisting project managers in day-to-day operations and administration.
  • Coordinating project meetings and supporting service provider performance.
  • Communicating with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to keep everything on track.
  • Helping manage insurance claims, performance reports and compliance with regulations.
  • Organising and keeping project documents and records in order.
  • Supporting data and reporting needs to meet service level agreements.
Person spec
  • Graduate or experienced hire with demonstrable skills - must be available for full time hours.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Great organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A professional, proactive and positive attitude.
  • Any experience or interest in public-private partnerships (like PFI), facilities management, or healthcare infrastructure would be a bonus – but not essential!
